Following last month’s announcement that the Government is funding a pilot scheme for two regional mediation networks, Acas has produced 6 top tips for employers wanting to use mediation to help resolve a problem at work: (i) ensure the issue is suitable for mediation; (ii) start the process sooner rather than later; (iii) appoint a trusted, independent mediator; (iv) ensure the ‘environmental’ conditions are right; (v) don’t rule out options; and (vi) don’t be disheartened if there is no immediate solution.
