Career Confidence: No-BS Stories and Strategies for Finding Your Power

What sets this book apart is its blend of real-life client stories and practical strategies for defining and showcasing what makes you unique. The author’s success story is woven into the narrative, providing a powerful testament to the effectiveness of the advice given.

This isn’t just another story about how to create an effective CV and how to market yourself effectively to get the job you want. That’s certainly part of it, but a more important part is how the author’s own story of building a resume support business, Storyline Resumes from scratch to c$10M pa t/o is woven into the lessons and experiences she now shares with her clients.

I loved this book’s mix of stories about real life client interactions, with strategies for defining and selling what makes you unique when you are ‘pitching’ yourself to others. If there’s a key take out from the book then it is this: “Hiring is a hot mess” the world over right now and to get though the experience all you can do is to “Suck it up: looking for a job in a bad market takes a dose of persistence, a sense of humour and a little luck”. Oh, and you really do have to feel comfortable and confident first in your professional and personal skills to take on this challenge…….
