In a call to business leaders, the CBI’s Director-General, Carolyn Fairbairn, says sexual harassment in all forms is unacceptable and committed leadership is needed to ensure the workplace harassment-free. Fairbairn stresses that while Westminster and Hollywood are currently in the spotlight, undoubtedly, harassment exists elsewhere, including in some businesses. She emphasises that sexual harassment is often hidden and can take many forms. Establishing a supportive culture and effective process across all business must be a priority, and Fairbairn draws attention to three specific good business practices which have been proven to be effective.
