The Government has accepted the Low Pay Commission’s recommendations for increases to the National Living Wage and the National Minimum Wage hourly rates to come into force in April 2018. The NLW will increase to £7.83 per hour. The NMW hourly rate increases are as follows: 21-24 year olds up to £7.38; 18-20 year olds up to £5.90; 16-17 year olds up to £4.20; apprentices aged under 19 or in first year of their apprenticeship up to £3.70. The daily offset rate to take account of accommodation provided by an employer will increase to £7.00 per day.
