The BEIS has published guidance on the legislation coming into force from April 2019 requiring employers to provide payslips to all workers, not just employees, and include additional information that must be shown on a payslip for workers whose pay varies depending on the number of hours they have worked. Where the latter applies, the number of hours paid based on the amount of time worked, must be shown as a single total of all such hours in the pay period, or they can be broken down into separate figures for different types of work or different rates of pay. The guidance provides eight examples of how the new law will work in practice.
