The survey will consist of telephone interviews with organisations across all industry sectors, including manufacturing and construction, retail, wholesale and transport, financial services and banking and other private sector services including health and education.
The baseline survey will establish the proportion of organisations publicising their gender pay gap and better position the Commission to advise the Government on how to improve the uptake of reporting. Jan Shury, Joint Managing Director at IFF Research, explains: “Understanding how different employers approach equal pay is an important step to encouraging more employers to adopt equal pay audits and to reduce the significant difference between what men and women earn.”
