Workers embrace less conventional ways of working this Christmas. Remote working is giving Brits the freedom to work from wherever they like this holiday season, with over a quarter (28 percent) planning to work from home.
A recent survey from Virgin Media Business shows traditional working patterns are being redefined, with businesses embracing technology that allows staff to work from any location.Businesses across the UK are investing in Unified Communications to transform the way people work. PCs, laptops, mobiles and tablets are all able to connect to the company network outside the confines of the office. But don’t expect the standard of work to slip during the festive season – 81 percent of remote workers believe they’re much more productive working this way and 84 percent say it shows that their company trusts and values them.
Duncan Higgins, marketing director, Virgin Media Business said, “Flexible working provides a better work/life balance which is especially important over the Christmas holidays when people want to be with their families. “It’s amazing that technology is now allowing people to log into work from their ski cabin in Austria or the beach in Australia. This empowers workforces to take a more flexible approach to work which has been proven to increase productivity and ultimately benefit the business in the long run.”
