Gillian Magee

Queen’s University has announced the appointment of its first substantive Vice President and Chief People Officer, Gillian Magee.

Gillian is currently the Director of People at Belfast Metropolitan College, where for the last 11 years she has led the people functions in a wide-ranging role, heavily focused on change management. Joining the university management team, Gillian brings significant experience and one of her first objectives will be to review and update the University’s people approach, alongside the implementation of its Strategy 2030. Gillian will be at the fulcrum of the University’s commitment to put people at the centre of its operations, in realising its ambition to shape a better world through life-changing education and research. Earlier in her career, Gillian was Head for Corporate Development for Tourism Northern Ireland and Head of Brand and Communications at Freeserve PLC.
