Prerana Issar

Sainsbury’s has announced Prerana Issar as the supermarket chain’s new Chief People Officer, replacing the outgoing Group HR Director, Angie Risley.

Prerana Issar was previously Chief People Officer at NHS, including during the COVID-19 pandemic and prior to that, she worked at the United Nations World Food Programme as Director of Public-Private Partnerships and Chief HR Officer. Issar started her career at Unilever, where she was focused on HR delivering commercial impact. She brings a multi-sector background and a strong and broad HR experience to the business, with a focus on purpose, as both a unifying force and a driver of business results.
