On 1 December 2012, the CRB is merging with the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) to become the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The service and processes are not changing as a result of the merger. The DBS will continue to process applications for criminal record checks but because of the need to go through a rebranding exercise, there will be minimal changes to the application form and certificate. To keep users up-to-date with these changes, a new website section, CRB is Changing, is now available.
