The BIS have published an interactive template for a written statement of employment particulars. The example of the written statement is designed to meet the requirements of employment legislation under Part 1 of the Employment Rights Act 1996. Under Ss 1(1) and (2) of the Act an employer must give an employee a written statement of particulars of employment when he or she begins employment and the statement must be given not later than two months after employment starts. The template includes notes for completion, which gives guidance on the information to be entered into each of the 22 sections.
This provides summary information and comment on the subject areas covered. Where employment tribunal and appellate court cases are reported, the information does not set out all of the facts, the legal arguments presented and the judgments made in every aspect of the case. Employment law is subject to constant change either by statute or by interpretation by the courts. While every care has been taken in compiling this information, we cannot be held responsible for any errors or omissions. Specialist legal advice must be taken on any legal issues that may arise before embarking upon any formal course of action.
