HM Courts & Tribunal Service has published its annual report which, at Page 85, illustrates the financial picture relating to employment tribunal fees between their introduction on 29 July 2013 and the end of the financial reporting year on 31 March 2014. The gross income generated by tribunal fees was £5,149m, which after a deduction of £680,000 for fee remissions, left a net income of £4,469m. The total expenditure for employment tribunals from 1 April 2013 to 31 March 2014 was £76,364m meaning that the net surplus deficit came to £71,895m.
