The MoJ have published Tribunals and Gender Recognition Statistics Quarterly, April to June 2018. Key statistics are: 10,996 single ET claims were received, a 165% increase on the same period in 2017; 42,700 multiple claims were received, an increase of 344%; the most common jurisdictional complaint was ‘unauthorised deduction from wages’; in 2017/18, there were 536 claims that received compensation for unfair dismissal, where the maximum award was £415,227 and the average award was £15,007; there were 136 discrimination cases where compensation was awarded in 2017/18, with the maximum amount awarded being £242,130 for disability discrimination; and, the average award in disability discrimination was £30,700, while the average for religious discrimination was the lowest at £5,100.
