The Minister for Women and Equalities has announced a £1.5 million fund which will offer grants to projects which help people to return to work in the private sector. The fund is designed to support people, particularly women, back into work after time out looking after children and other relatives by updating their skills, providing other training, or support. As reported last week, the initiative is accompanied by guidance to support companies that would like to employ returners and the fund is part of a wider strategy to develop the evidence base on what may help to close the gender pay gap.
