Acas Chair, Sir Brendan Barber, has predicted that pay, productivity, tribunal claims and employee voice in boardrooms will be key workplace issues in 2018. Sir Brendan commented that: pay will be high on the agenda because of gender pay gap reporting; improving the UK’s productivity is the key challenge to delivering higher living standards; Acas’ latest stats show a 60% increase in ET claims compared to the same period the previous year; and, the FRC’s draft Corporate Governance Code includes guidance around how companies can ensure workers have a greater voice in boardrooms.
