The Employment Tribunal Presidents have updated the Vento bans, which apply to compensation awards for injury to feelings, to account for changes in the RPI All Items Index published in March 2018. For claims presented on or after 6 April 2018, the Vento bands will be as follows: (i) a lower band of £900 to £8,600 (less serious cases); (ii) a middle band of £8,600 to £25,700 (cases not meriting an award in the upper band); and; (iii) an upper band of £25,700 to £42,900 (the most serious cases), with the most exceptional cases capable of exceeding £42,900.
