The Statutory Sick Pay (General) (Coronavirus Amendment) Regulations 2020 came into force on 13 March 2020 amending Statutory Sick Pay legislation so that a person isolating himself from other people in such a manner as to prevent infection or contamination with coronavirus disease, in accordance with guidance published by Public Health England, NHS National Services Scotland or Public Health Wales will be deemed as being unable to work because of that isolation. The Regulations were subsequently updated on 17 March by the Statutory Sick Pay (General) (Coronavirus Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2020 as the previous Regulations related to public health advice as at 12 March 2020 and should now refer to the amended guidance as issued on 16 March 2020.
